Wildfire Risk Reduction Strategy Launch Event at Mirrormont Park

Come see Mirrormont make the news! King County Dept. of Natural Resources & Parks has chosen Mirrormont, an official Firewise Community, to launch their Wildfire Risk Reduction Program. King County leadership, King Conservation District (KCD), emergency managers, first responders, and city officials will attend to show their support. Following presentations in the park, KCD will hold a Firewise demonstration. News media will cover the event.

The Mirrormont Community Association formed a Firewise Committee in 2015 and created a 51-page Community Wildfire Protection Plan for Mirrormont. Each year since then, the MCA has sponsored educational events about becoming Firewise, and held annual Chipper Days to reduce fire risk from fuels on our properties. The MCA also sponsored a program to help homeowners get the blue street address signs with reflective numbers to help emergency personnel find their homes and encourages residents to obtain free wildfire risk assessments.
